Global Migration, 1960–2022

A representation of annual migration estimates, as viewed from within the Earth.
I attempt this as a refreshing, uplifting viewpoint on a subject often looked down upon.
Legend:
Countries are intentionally arranged randomly, avoiding traditional political borders. Similar colors indicate high levels of migration between the two nations. Population in a given year is represented by the size of the nodes, likewise for migration counts and the mobile blobs. Much of this data is imputed (see data source and GitHub ReadMe file).
